Nicola Wilson wins CCI*** at Military Boekelo
A fantastic win for Nicola Wilson riding Mr James Lambert and Mrs Jo Lambert ‘Bulana’ in the CCI*** at Military Boekelo last weekend (8th -11th October).
The combination were lying 5th after dressage, moving up to 4th after a great cross-country round, they then jumped a clear round show jumping to win.
The nine-year old black mare was a new ride for Nicola in the middle of last season and they have cemented their partnership in 2015 with some excellent results, including a 9th place in the CIC*** at the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe, winning an Advanced class at Allerton Park before rounding off her season with her sensational win in Boekelo.
“I am over the moon with Bulana, says Nicola, she stepped up to this level of competition this year, but she still felt so secure and confident in all three phases. This win is just fabulous for us all as a team and gives the yard another horse qualification for the Rio Olympics next year. Although the Olympics are still a long way off it gives us all a boost going into the winter training months”
“I am thrilled for her owners but also for all my supporters, sponsors and my team of hardworking girls, who all make this possible”.
Nicola’s last competition of 2015 will be in Pau, France (21st – 25th October), where she will be riding Watermill Vision, also owned by Mr James Lambert and Mrs Jo Lambert in the CCI**** and Ngong HIlls owned by Mrs Gilly Guthrie and Mrs Juliette Alers-Hankey in the in the CIC**, with high hopes of finishing the season with another good result that will crown a wonderful year and looking forward to 2016 with the mouthwatering possibility of a being part of Team GB at the Rio Olympics.
