Nicola Wilson wins CIC*** at Equi-Trek Bramham Horse Trials
Nicola won the BETA CIC3* at the Equi-Trek Bramham Horse Trials with her parents Mary and Barry Tweddle’s Annie Clover.
It was a first Bramham victory for Nicola at her favourite event.
“I can’t quite believe it’s happened — to win in Yorkshire at Bramham on Annie Clover, who is owned by my parents, is magical, it’s something I’ve struggled to do but it’s nice to finally do it for us all”!
Nicola was lying second on Annie Clover after dressage and 11th with Watermill Vision (owned by Jo and James Lambert). After both horses show jumped clear, that left Annie still in second place but moved Watermill Vision up to sixth, it was all to play for on the Ian Stark built cross-country course. Both horses having CCI**** experience having run at Kentucky in April made light of the cross-country course, both coming home clear and inside the time, with Annie Clover moving ahead of long-time leader Pippa Funnell and moving Watermill Vision up to 4th place.
“This week was about Annie Clover and Watermill Vision having a lovely run back after Kentucky and the rain made the ground perfect,” said Nicola. It’s been a fantastic week and to have both these horses finish on their dressage scores is really special. I have a lovely string of horses and the future is really exciting – I couldn’t be happier!”
