Here is my final update for 2021:
With the horses in the last throws of their winter holiday, during which they have been turned out 24/7, with Bucas rugs on and having a daily feed of Baileys conditioning cubes and balancer, and Marksway HorseHage – I am counting down the days until they start work (beginning of Jan)!
Having sold Bobby, I was keen to buy another young horse this autumn. I bidded, unsuccessfully, at the Monart Horse Sales online auction in Nov. I thought I might be able to get a bargain with the sales being unable to run normally, but no! The prices were amazingly high. I hoped for better luck at the Going For Gold sales a couple of weeks later, but again the prices were too high for me.
Luckily I have managed to buy a lovely 4yr old grey gelding which Sam and Emily had in their yard. He is French bred by the awesome stallion Upsillon. My husband David has come in as part owner, which is wonderful…the last time I persuaded him to be involved with a horse was back in the ’90’s when he became half owner of Star Appeal (with whom I went on to win Badminton and Burghley), so lets hope we are as lucky with this horse!!
I would like to say a huge thank you to all my sponsors, without their support I would find my continued involvement this great sport impossible…thank you so much to you all:
Baileys Horse Feeds
Equine Rescue Services
And also a huge thank you to ‘The Kings Group‘ syndicate members (who supported Bobby):
Fenella and Emily Hughes
🎄 🎁 🎅🏻 Have a very merry Christmas and happy healthy successful 2021!
