Ben & Sarena finish on a high in WEF

The Winter Equestrian Festival came to an end in the best possible way for Ben Maher and Sarena who won the Finale 5* Grand Prix in style, with the only double clear rounds of the class.

This victory was the ninth Grand Prix victory since 2012 for Ben in Wellington and his first Grand Prix victory this season. It was also Jane Clark’s French bred mare Sarena first Grand Prix.

“This is the first class she has won, but she picked the right time and I hope there will be many more. It has been a tough ride. She was a horse that was bought to jump these big classes but she was young when we got her. It really took a year to get to know her and for her to get to know me. It’s been a lot of hard work. ”

The focus of this important year remains the Olympic Games in Rio in August and Ben is already focusing on getting ready for the challenge.
