Nicola Wilson wins CIC*** and CCI** at Hopetoun International Horse Trials

Nicola had a very successful competition at Hopetoun International Horse Trials winning the CIC*** with One Two Many and the CCI** with Ngong Hills.

One Two Many (owned by Mr Gerry Kemp, Mrs Mary Kemp and Mrs Janine Shewan) was having his first run since coming 7th at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials and he was very excited to be out competing again.  He did a super dressage test followed by a lovely double clear in the show jumping and cross-country and his owners and myself were thrilled for him to come out and go as well as he did.

I was particularly delighted for Ngong Hills owner/breeders (Mrs Gilly Guthrie and Mrs Juliette Alers-Hankey) with is win in the CCI** as the original plan was for him to compete at in the CCI*** at the Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials, but we felt he was not quite ready, therefore, his performance at Hopetoun made up for any disappointment of him not going to Bramham.  After performing a lovely dressage test he stayed on his score to win the CCI**.

Dartans Greenlough Tom (owned by Mrs Deirdre Johnston and Mrs Mary Lofthouse) ran in the CCI* and due to him pulling a muscle earlier in the year, this was his only 2nd competition of the season and therefore we were delighted how this young horse coped and with his level of performance to finish 11th.

I had an extremely enjoyable week at Hopetoun, the ground was superb with the cross-country courses really inviting and educational for the younger horses, who will only gain in confidence, I believe it is a competition that is going from strength to strength.
